pickled red onion

Pickled red onion is such an easy topping to make on your own. Just mix some vinegar, salt, and sugar together with some thinly sliced onion and you have toned down sweet and spicy pickled onions!

The longer they sit, the better they get but I have been known to start using them after just a few hours. They are great on tacos, sandwiches, and pulled pork.

You can use this basic pickling liquid recipe with anything else you want to pickle! Cucumbers, carrots, peppers…the possibilities are endless!
