A cocktail with herbs in it always catches my attention. If I see one on a restaurant menu, that’s what I am ordering. You definitely don’t want to be overpowered by herb flavor though, and this thyme simple syrup accomplishes that.
This cocktail ends up incredibly fresh and sweet… without being TOO sweet.
FYI the recipe makes multiple servings of thyme simple syrup.
Add equal parts of water and sugar to a small saucepan. Add a few sprigs of thyme and bring to a boil. Once sugar has dissolved remove from heat. Leaving the thyme in the mixture, allow to cool.
Fill glass with ice
Add 1 oz orange juice, 1 oz simple syrup, and 1 1/2 oz vodka. Top with sparkling water. Garnish with orange wedge and additional fresh thyme.
